AIS General Directorate provides
the aeronautical Information necessary for
the safety, regularity and efficiency of
air navigation and the full compliance with
national and international regulations in
the following fields.
A. Flight plans as follows:
According to national and international regulations
B. NOTAM as follows:
1. Receives and distributes aeronautical
information in the form of NOTAM.
2. Issues NOTAMs in the suitable series:
A, B , C and W
3. Issues NOTAMs which are of permanent nature
and subject to the approval of the
Civil Aviation Authority.
4. Follows up the estimate NOTAMs with the
concerned sectors.
5. Follows up the NOTAMs which have been
incorporated in AIP Amendments or
Supplements for canceLLing them.
6. Issues the NOTAM checklists
B. Briefing Field as follows:
1) Receives foreign NOTAMs and updates database
accordingly for preparing the various PIBs
(manual and automated bulletins) to ensure
the safety of international operation within
Cairo FIR...
2) Determines the coverage zone of each Egyptian AIS
AD unit.
3) Maintains continuous coordination with
NOTAM and FPL directorates.
4) Follows up the provision of post flight services.
5) Determines the responsibility of each
shift concerning :
* route bulletins
* Receiving foreign NOTAM and distributing important ones.
* Accepting and sending flight plans.
NOTE:AIS offices working 24 hours in :
Cairo,Alexanderia,Hurghuda,luxor,Aswan,Sharm el sheikh,and 12 hours in:
El Arish ,Borg El Arab,Asiut,Abusimble,October and Elkharga
